The Symbolic Meaning of the Color White

The color white is one of the two most powerful of  colors. This is due to the fact that white is an achromatic color that reflects all visible light of the spectrum. White is the result of the absence of color. It is powerful because it resists corruption by reflecting everything away from itself. This is why white is symbolic of purity and incorruptibility. Because it is an active color white is a Masculine Solar Symbol. It is also the color of light as Primary Substance.

The color white affects the mind by aiding in mental clarity and acuity. It promotes feelings of fresh beginnings and renewal.

White is symbolic of perfection, virginity, innocence, honesty, light, goodness, heaven, brilliance, illumination, understanding, faith, beginnings, sterility, spirituality, possibility, humility, sincerity, protection, and perfection.

The second most important symbolic meaning for white is truth. Like the color white, truth is incorruptible. Nothing we can do or say can change it. As Winston Churchill once said, “The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.”

In rituals white is used for cleansing, clearing and encouraging the purification of thoughts and actions. It is used to protect the practitioner from any negative energy that may be unknowingly attracted during the ritual. This is accomplished by burning a white candle or meditating before the ritual begins and wrapping oneself in white light. In order to activate the protective quality of white light the practitioner must clearly state the intention of its use for that specific purpose.

Whenever I conduct a guided meditation for a client I always guide them through a ritual that will protect them from negative energy during the meditation. I guide them to wrap themselves in white light from head to toe while stating that this will protect them during the meditation. I affirm that nothing can penetrate the white light. The wrapping of white light also cleanses my client of negative energy.

When I see white in a psychic vision I know that it stands for truthfulness, purity and spirituality. If I see a person as all white in a psychic vision then I know that the person is someone whom my client can trust.  White is always a positive color when I see it for my clients in psychic visions.

Be looking for my next post on Color Symbology. I will be discussing another color that is just as powerful as white.

The Symbolic Meaning of the Color Purple

Purple shares many of the same symbolic qualities as blue. Although there are many different beliefs concerning the color of each of the 7 chakras, I see the third eye chakra as blue or purple. However, purple differs from blue when it indicates the union with your higher self, your higher consciousness and with spirituality. It is the color that opens the consciousness and brings awareness of higher planes of existence and connects us with the energies of spirit and light.

The third eye is located in the same area as the pineal gland. The pineal gland is a small endocrine gland in the brain. It produces melatonin, a serotonin derived hormone, which affects the modulation of sleep patterns in both seasonal and circadian rhythms.

I believe that the real talent of a good psychic lies in their ability to control the sleep process. They are able to hold an alpha state that allows them to contact spirit. The 4 alpha states are part of the process of falling to sleep. So, the pineal gland that controls sleep is crucial in achieving and holding that state of consciousness for extended  or for momentary amounts of time. When they accomplish this connection it is purple. I see the pineal gland in my mind’s eye as being purple.

Purple is also symbolic of  intuition, clairvoyance, divination, spiritual protection, wisdom, idealism and psychic manifestation. It is a universal symbol for  the royalty of the gods. It can often be found in the religious garments of priests and priestesses.

Purple is used in rituals to initiate psychic ability and create contact with spirit. Many times, psychics will wear purple for that very purpose.

Whenever I see purple in a psychic vision for a client during a psychic reading session I know that it means several things for me. It represents the connection with spirit during the reading, the presence of spirit during the reading or that someone will be going through a spiritual transformation.

Sometimes I see colors in layers. When I do I have to apply the meaning of each color as it relates to the color on the bottom layer. For example, I may see black over purple. The correct interpretation for that combination is that someone is acting unspiritually or is simply unspiritual.

Lastly, of the colors in the visible spectrum, purple is the one that vibrates at the highest frequency. It is this high frequency that gives it the ability to connect us with spirit. This is because spirit also vibrates at a high frequency.

Don’t miss the next two colors that I will be discussing in the next two posts as I continue with this series on color symbology. They are very important colors.

The Symbolic Meaning of the Color Blue

Blue is another very useful color. Although it is considered a masculine color in the west, blue is actually a Feminine Lunar Symbol. Blue symbolism is nearly universal in its meaning.

When you think of blue, think of the blue sky that covers the earth.  And, since we have left its atmosphere, the Earth appears as a blue planet when viewed from outer space. Blue is symbolic of the blue sky and what we once believed lay beyond it. We believed that the sky was the membrane that separated us from Heaven and our creator. It is Lunar because it is a creative symbol.

All of the qualities of the sky are symbolized in blue. It is the color of meditation, tranquillity, openness, expansiveness, freedom, forgiveness, clairvoyance, peace, mystery and depth.

Blue is also symbolized by lake and ocean water which appears blue to us in many instances. The main reason for its color is that large bodies of water reflect the blue of our sky. Blue is symbolic of the source of life because it is symbolic of a fluid that is essential for life.

As a Psychic Medium, blue represents the transfer of energy from spirit as it communicates with me. And I believe it is the color of the psychic who is in contact with another plane of existence.

Blue is very useful in rituals and meditation for it calming effect. It is also used to place the mind in a receptive, psychic state when working with spirit. Light blue is used in hospitals to calm patients as well as those who work within its walls.

Dark blue takes on some different symbolic meanings from light blue. It is symbolic of expertise, stability, control , strength, integrity, seriousness, intelligence, unity, and represents knowledge. Dark blue is a more serious and conservative color than light blue. Dark blue loses some of its Lunar qualities and begins to take on Solar qualities as it gets darker. A good example of this is the use of dark blue in police uniforms.  In that instance, it conveys control, expertise and power.

Look for my next post about the symbolic meaning of another color. We still have a few more to go.

The Symbolic Meaning of the Color Green

Green is another very important color in symbology and in metaphysical use. There are many universal symbolic meanings for green.

When you think of the color green you should think of the green canopy that is created in a forest of broad leaf trees. If you stand beneath that canopy, you are flooded with sunlight that is filtered through green tree leaves. This is the best green light in which you can bathe yourself. It is rich in powers of vigorous life, regeneration and healing. Because of these symbolic qualities, green is a Feminine Lunar Symbol.

Green is symbolic of springtime, freshness and hope. When green symbolizes hope, it represents the faith that things will improve after a period of adversity in the same fashion as the renewal of flowers and plants after the cold, harsh winter season ends each year. In this way, it symbolizes rebirth, renewal and immortality.

In the west, green also symbolizes money, prosperity and wealth. Any ritual that is performed to attract money should employ the color green. For example, in a Feng Shui ritual, you place a green dollar bill under a red object in the prosperity corner of your house. The red activates your intention and the green indicates the desired result of the ritual. The ritual is meant to activate the flow of money to you.

When I guide my clients through a meditation session, I always have them visualize green light bathing every part of their body.  The green light is soothing and healing. Many of my clients come out of a meditation session feeling unusually relaxed and energized. That is the power of green.

We still have many more colors to discuss in this series of posts on the symbolic meanings of colors.

The Symbolic Meaning of the Color Yellow

Yellow is a color that is highly appreciated and frequently used for it symbolic meaning. Many of its symbolic interpretations are universal.

When you think of yellow, you should think of our sun. That is because yellow is a Masculine Solar Symbol. It is symbolic of many of the qualities of the sun.  Like the sun, it captures our attention more than any other color in the light spectrum. This occurs because the sun illuminates everything that is in range of its light. This light is primary substance. If our universe was indeed created by a big bang, light was the first substance to appear in the universe. Light was followed by sound and then by a concussive blast wave. The light of the sun powers almost all life on our planet Earth. It is essential for our existence.

Yellow’s most important symbolic meaning is truth. This meaning is derived from the fact that nothing can hide or conceal itself while standing under the full light of the sun. It is there for anyone to see and it can not be misrepresented in any way.

Besides truth the color yellow is also symbolic of life-giving energy. There is a general belief that the energy that enters the Solar Plexus chakra, located near the sternum, is yellow. This is the chakra that many belief systems regard as the energy center of the body. When work is done to channel this yellow energy some believe that the body is re-energized at the cellular level.

Yellow is a primal color. It is one of the first colors used by Paleolithic artists in cave paintings. The most famous example of this is found in the Lascaux Caves in France. A cave painting of a yellow horse was discovered in the cave and is believed to be one of the oldest paintings in the cave. Its age is estimated to be between 17, 500 and 20,000 years old.

In Tarot, the Sun card contains a large sun with a mature man and a young man seated with an open book between them. This is symbolic of the communication between them as the teacher shares truth and knowledge with his student.  In this case, yellow represents intellect, reason, intuition, communication and learning. It is the color which resonates with the left or logical side of the brain. Yellow stimulates our mental faculties and creates mental dexterity and heightens perception.

In my next post we will discuss another color that is as important to us as yellow.

The Symbolic Meaning of the Color Pink

Pink is the feminine version of the color red. Where red activates through physical energy and life force, pink accomplishes things in a more subtle way. Feminine power is more about the power of nurturing and love. It accomplishes things from the background but it is just as effective as Masculine power. Its power is hidden from view and is similar to the way that a human embryo develops unseen in its mothers womb.

Bright pinks, like the color red, stimulate energy, can increase the blood pressure, as well as respiration, heartbeat, and pulse rate.

Feminine symbols are called Lunar Symbols because the moon is a good symbol for the Feminine Principle. Our moon comes and goes but we know that it will always return even though it remains unseen for a while. That is the Feminine Principle: that which is hidden, that can be revealed and will be revealed. In this way it is also symbolic of the qualities of truth. Truth can be concealed but by its own nature, it cannot remain hidden forever.

Pink is symbolic of feminine energy, love, friendship, affection, harmony, gentleness, spiritual fulfillment, nurturing, caring, tenderness, acceptance and calmness.

Pink is used in rituals for the attraction of love and happiness. Whenever I see pink in a psychic vision for a client I know that it represents some feminine quality. It may indicate the birth of a baby girl or that a woman is going to be important in some way. The symbols that are associated with the color makes all the difference in its interpretation.

Pink is not a universal symbol for women or things that are feminine. It is only symbolic for that in the western world.

I still have quite a few more colors to define. I will continue to do that in my next post.

The Symbolic Meaning of the Color Red

Red is a very important color to us. This is because red is the color of blood and fire which makes it symbolic of life force and power. It is symbolic of the human heart because its primary function is to pump life-giving blood throughout the body. When it is symbolic of fire it represents one of the hottest elements on earth: red-hot lava. Red is considered a Solar Symbol because the sun is always on fire. Masculine symbols are known as Solar Symbols.

The color red is a masculine, active color. It is symbolic of vigorous health, strength, love, passion, leadership, courage, vigor, anger, danger, willpower, action, and vibrancy.

In rituals red is always used as an activator. It may be represented by a flame or any red object. It also may be represented symbolically by red light. Red is usually used in rituals used to infuse someone with needed life force and energy or to attract love.

Studies show that the color red can create physical effects in the human body such as elevated blood pressure, enhanced libido, increased respiratory rates, enhanced metabolism, increased enthusiasm, higher levels of energy, and increased confidence. Red causes faster heartbeat and breathing because it stimulates the senses.

The color red is the basis of the traditional red power tie or the red suit in business. We also see it in the red carpet that is used to usher celebrities and VIPs into important events. Red’s symbolic meanings of courage and bravery makes it a color that is used often in national flags, on shields, and in achievement patches.

Red can have many different cultural meanings such as purity, joy, celebration, good luck, happiness and prosperity. In some cultures it can be the color of mourning. Whatever the cultural differences may be, red has Universal meaning. That is, it universally represents fire, power and blood universally.

I will continue with color symbology in my next post.

The Symbology of Colors

Color symbology is probably the oldest form of human symbology. It held significant meaning long before shapes, lines and pictures held symbolical connotation for early man. All of the varied hues found in nature triggered (and still do) many different emotional responses. One can only sit back and imagine what went through the simple, childlike minds of prehistoric man when he contemplated the beautiful colors of the sunset, flowers, animals and more. Early man sought to re-create these colors to provoke the emotional responses he desired in himself and others. Red, for example, could be worn to provoke anger and instill fear. Because we believed in magic-by-contagion, man thought that if he wore a color he became one with it and therefore shared the same qualities as well as the same consciousness with it.

Throughout our history colors have always held strong symbolical meaning for us. Although, some color symbology is purely cultural, there are meanings for colors that transcend cultural barriers. Red represents life in almost every culture; blue represents peace and openness; green represents new life and regeneration and on it goes with the rest of the color spectrum. When a symbol has the same meaning in every culture on Earth it is called a Universal symbol. These are the most important symbols of all. They relay the same meaning to each and every one of us.

We can safely say that color symbology is an inherent part of the human psyche. The emotional responses may differ, but they are all emotional responses, nonetheless. To ignore the responses that colors provoke is to ignore an important part of one’s self.

Color has played an important part in magical and religious ceremonies since time immemorial. Colors are used in magic to invoke certain natural forces for the betterment of the individual or the group. In candle burning, the lit, colored candle becomes a focal point on the altar. Its color is used as a trigger to tune the practitioner into the stream of energy that will produce the desired results of his/her ritual ceremony.

When I sit in a session with a client I receive color in psychic visions. Often, the colors in the psychic visions are shown in combination with other colors. Because I have studied symbology, I am able to interpret the colors that my spirit guides and my client’s spirit guides send to me during a psychic reading.

Beginning with my next post, I will interpret the symbolic meaning of the basic colors that spirit guides send in psychic visions.

Spiritual Counseling

Spiritual counseling a lot of clients over the years have said that a “good ” Psychic reading is more helpful most of the time because I see the past, present and future (what’s been happening in their lives before they even speak).
I always start my spiritual counseling with a psychic reading first. I immediately begin our session based on what my Guides show me. A client gets to hear first what the spirit guides have to say, then I see what’s going on now and then I see the future of a particular issue or person.

Cheri has been doing Psychic Spiritual Counseling for over 40 years, she is also a spiritual strategist, it works for personal and business. I don’t ask questions, I tell you what my spirit guides are saying. The only time any questions are asked is when my spirit guides show me a name or issue (legal, relationship, health problem etc.) and She needs confirmation. Then Cheri knows She’s on target with helping be a great spiritual counselor.
Spiritual counseling is not meant to control or tell a person how to run their life, but to spiritually guide them as to the right path they can take. Usually what the spirit guides do, is give advice and help me be do spiritual counseling session. You can stay where you’re at in a situation and do nothing (not usually a great idea) or you can turn to go right or left.

She has been told that her method of psychic spiritual counseling is not only helpful but accurate.
If she feel’s that a person needs to see professional therapist or a psychotherapist etc. She will usually advise it.
She  is not a therapist but her psychic spiritual counseling sessions guide a certain direct for my clients situation to show the best course they can take. There are never any guarantees in any kind of guidance. It’s how you handle any and all situations yourself. It’s your life and in the end, your decision.
